Blogs, Cameras, and working for a living

It has been a number of years since I started this website, blog and photographic journey. Shortly after completing the course that started this website my then current employer announced that they would be moving from one office building to another building all the while continuing with their annual records purges, hard copy cleanup, and missing file research programs. Thus free time, camera time, and personal projects time simply vanished into the hole of exhaustion, fatigue and oblivion that is the life of an office drone. Once safely ensconced into their new work spaces and following their own policy of preservation of profits at the expense of staff; they started to whittle away at their service lines, and supporting staffing needs. Where once there were four people working on a hundred and fifty client projects they reduced it to one support staffer per two hundred client projects. And so the ax fell with a thundering crash throughout the office as support staff fell by the side like cords of lumber awaiting the foundations of a new home.

So cast adrift upon the wide open sea of unemployment I drifted with the undercurrents of dismal foreboding, vacuous pockets, and hungry eyes as far off Tropical Island paradises slowly floated upon the distant horizons. While dreams of snake infested office jungles and overflowing project fruit bowls danced tenuously out of touch. My only company while adrift upon the vacant seas of vagrant yearning are the thousands upon thousands of other poor lost souls seeking the supporting purchase of the employment reef. All the while being circled by the sharks of debt, bill collectors, health care, and dark desires of man.

And so with a tenuous toe hold upon the sandy bottom of a temporary harbor I once again venture into the realm of personal projects and roaming eyes. Seeing the vague beauty of objects, people, gatherings, and places as the starting places for new foundations, toe holds, and objects de art.
